(She/They)
Hello, my name is Beth Branco. I am a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who obtained my master’s degree from Thomas Jefferson University, located in the heart of Philadelphia, as well as my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern University, located in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. During my time at both of these universities, through internships and experiences gained from working as a Family-Based Therapist immediately after graduating from graduate school, I have gained experience working with a vast range of people from all walks of life. However, my experiences run deeper when it comes to working with clients who fall under one or more of the following categories: LGBTQIA+, ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder, OCD, couples struggling with or who have struggled with infidelity, eating disorders, and individuals who have experienced some form of sexual abuse, specifically as children. I work with a variety of client types, including individuals, couples, and families. I am proud to say that I take on a supportive and collaborative role with my clients as a therapist. I am also not afraid to approach every topic in a systemic way, due to the belief that we are all systemically influenced. Our families, relationships, social circles, environments, and societal dynamics all impact us as individuals throughout our entire lives. We are who we are based on the people and situations we have experienced.
As a therapist, I provide clients with a safe space that is open and accepting, and I know how scary it can be to start therapy—whether it is for the very first time or just with a new clinician. I am not afraid to admit to my clients that they are not the only ones who may feel nervous during our first meeting. I take my role very seriously, and I know that I am being trusted with the deepest aspects of your lives and experiences—things you may not even feel comfortable telling your closest friends—and I do not take this lightly. I want my clients to know that from the moment they walk into my office, I am focused on providing you with the kind of care that you need. In my experience working as a clinician, I typically find myself utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Play Therapy (when it comes to my younger clients). However, I will not hesitate to pull from other modalities if I feel it may work better with a specific client or couple/family.
I could share a lot more about myself and what you could expect from working with me, but I believe each session is unique. Every client and every topic we focus on brings its own dynamic. What I can promise is that I’m genuinely excited about the possibility of working together. My goal is to support you in becoming the version of yourself that you aspire to be through growth and healing. I look forward to meeting you and scheduling an intake appointment soon. Let’s take the first step towards this journey together!
