Zack Collier, MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, (Pronouns: he/his/him)

Life can be a complicated thing at all ages. There will be times when you feel like you have everything under control and other times when you cannot make sense of the feelings or events you’re going through. It is my responsibility to support and guide you through the hard times and help find ways to cope with these situations. Whether that is as simple as having someone to talk to or bringing awareness to behaviors and thoughts that are steering you the wrong way, therapy starts with building a solid foundation based on trust and nonjudgment which creates a safe environment for you to be yourself.

While attending Slippery Rock University, I received my undergraduate bachelor’s degree in psychology. I then enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University to complete my Master’s in Mental Health counseling. I completed my internship at the Cognitive Behavioral Institute outside of Pittsburgh, PA where I experienced what it takes to be a successful therapist in the private practice setting.

I have experience working with teenagers and adults from diverse backgrounds, supporting clients with anxiety, depression, and addiction-related concerns. I help clients navigate life stressors while building practical strategies to manage emotions that may initially feel overwhelming. My style focuses on increasing self-awareness and helping clients develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and responding to challenges.

As for my therapeutic approach, I begin with a person-centered foundation, focusing on building rapport through empathy and active listening while treating clients as equals. I am strongly influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients explore how their thoughts and feelings influence their behaviors. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support clients in sitting with uncomfortable emotions and recognizing that thoughts are simply thoughts, not their identity. I am continually seeking out and learning new approaches to enhance the overall treatment process.

    My therapeutic approaches are:

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

    Person-Centered Therapy

    Multi-Modal Attachment Therapy (MMAT)

    Trauma Informed
